The Metropolitan Museum of Art
For the second time this week we visited the The Metropolitan Museum of Art. They have three big shows on at the moment, Jasper Jones , Poussin and Nature and Courbet. The Jasper Jones and the Courbet we did on Monday. Now we came back for the Pussin show and to see some old masters.
They have a mad collection. I went mad walking through their collection of impressionistic painter. They have so many of the key pieces. A room full of Monet (the etretat rock picture is there) a room full of Manet ete. There are tow rooms with Degas whom I like a lot.
The Poussin show was quite impressive, it's huge. What I like a lot is that they have very good information to every picture next to it.
Greyson Perry
We love Greyson Perry - what a brilliant artist! This cast-iron sculpture is titled «Our Father» and was displayed alongside his brilliant vases at Victoria Miro's booth at the Armory Show New York.

P.S. If anyone has a spare $120'000.- buy this for us!
Very nice

Trip to Art Basel
Went to Basel today to see the Jean-Frédéric Schnyder show at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst and on to the Art Basel.
Jean-Frédéric Schnyder's show is great, full of humour and brilliant work old and new. It's a must see.
The Art did not offer much new - although its a bit hard to tell as we didn't have so much time and there's loads of stuff... but there's one outstanding installation by Christoph Büchel in Art Unlimited - this alone is worth a trip to Basel. Büchel's installation «Chinese Recycling Area: including camper and Meth-Lab» is a heavy (and huge) piece on (what I guess) american soldiers in the Irak war and at home... a very clever work. Big.
