a rough trade exclusive with a bonus 10 track cd called 'minisink hotel'. a stunning, raw, sultry and absolutely essential album for those that love the 4 track demos of pj harvey and the early pre-croon of cat power. formed in 2006, brooklyn, she keeps bees are a couple / band you won't want to slap the crap out of. their music is bluesy, but not what you're thinking. jessica sings 'til her stomach hurts while andy holds down the rhythm - lumberjack style. the music is simple, gritty and downright sexy - howlin' wolf and millie jackson to start, but you'll probably hear pj harvey and cat power in there too. this homemade recording keeps it real simple: drums, guitar and little else. we absolutely adore this album. on names.

A lovely Place near the river. We sat outside and had very nice simple food.
A tout with braised fennel for me and friture des abblets for kevin. We drank a good demeter wine from a nearby producer. All very unusual for france. Since we are usually not very lucky with restaurants in this country. Except in Paris of course.
Lucky us - we found time ( and money ;-)) to go on a short trip to beloved france. Most of the places we called were fully booked but then kevin found Château de Germigney in Port-Lesney. It's only a 2 hours drive from bern and in the middle of the beautiful french jura.
The Hotel is surrounded by a lovely park and has a natural swimming pool. The decor is not really my type, to much mixing of styles but I did not care to much. People are friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
We paid 130 Euro for the room 15 extra for the breakfast.
They seem to have a very good Hotel (high class) Restaurant but we ate at their Bistrot in town - a very good choice.

After quite some time, I went to visit Kitchener again, and it is better than ever. Fantastic clothes, CD's, ceramics, books, bags, shoes, sound systems... all laid out beautifully, assorted by colour, with some superb suggestions of how to mix and match. Friendly, competent staff and good music.

The selection of brands is very much to my liking: Surface 2 Air, Filippa K, Paul Smith, Fred Perry and some new brands - can't remember the names. Its a real joy to shop and spend time in here. Respect to everyone involved - what a cool shop!
